Because of Linked In…Referals Are up
By Kathy on Oct 28, 2008 in On Line Networking
OK, I admit it, I haven’t taken full advantage of all the goodies available on Linked In. But has anyone? I say take advantage of the most important parts for your business and go back as time allows to learn more.
First things first, set up your account. www.linkedin.com Then ask folks to link with you. I just started with my address book and asked 20 people. When I had time, I went back and searched former classmates. I am up to 34 connections which tabulated to 922,400 people who now are “some how” linked!
What I like about this program is you get a weekly email updating you on what others in the network are doing, some are very busy networkers and give me ideas on where to post a request for bid. It also keeps me on their mind as they get a note about who I am working with and I think of them when they join new groups, post an article or add to their network. I have gotten some great referals thru linked in the past few months, just by updating my profile, sending out a note every once in a while and I understand if I start participating in some groups, it can even have better benefits.
The way I look at it, even if you just make a profile with all of your contact information, it is a proactive way to get your web site linked and opportunity for others to look you up. You need to get linkedin today and make sure to link to me!
Best Regards,
Kathy Kane
