Make Your Headline Pop!

Popcorn! You need a headline for every marketing piece that you create. This includes postcards, newsletters, e-news, on-line social networking, ads, radio, video, billboard, ect. The headline is also the theme, so the content should obviously reflect the “catch phrase”. There are many headlines to choose from:

*Fear based
*Question
*News
*”How to”
*Intrique
*Guarantee
*Testimonial
*Benefits
*Silly/Outrageous
*Personal

Here are the top 3 basics for writing great copy ever time:
1.Talk about benefits first-follow up with support for those claims
2. Focus on your CUSTOMER, their needs, wants and desires. Not about your company, your quality, your service.
3. Always have a headline for every piece you do and then follow the above 2 rules.

Some other ideas to consider, don’t use your business name or logo in the headline. Write copy based on what’s in it for THEM. Write with emotion. Create a compelling offer. Give a great guarantee. Issue a call to action and use great photos. A picture is worth a thousand words, make sure it matches your message. Now go create a great piece that brings in new clients!
