Take a closer look at Google

Yes, you use Google for searching. But when was the last time you took a couple hours and really dived into all the new Google features for business? Some are pay for services, but many are still free. Take advantage!

Even though it is pretty simple, have you submitted your web site yet or lately to optimize your site? www.google.com/submitsite

If you are a local business have you added yourself to Google local yet? www.google.com/local

You can even search for a patent if you are creating a new product or translate a web page into other languages!

A really useful free app is Google analytics. www.google.com/analytics You can add code to your web site and see exactly where your traffic is being generated from, who is looking at your site, for how long and more.

I have used Google ad sense and Google ad words. To both promote my site as well as to add advertising to sites for additional revenue. I also use google check out to process payments on some sites. These all work great.

Join a Google Group! Search any group you may be interested in and see the additional benefits you can have access to by participating in these group rooms. You can also add your own group and ask your network to get involved.

My favorite new app is something I’ve mentioned before. To be able to check your on-line rep and get a Google alert www.google.com/alert every day about any press or blogs that happen to come up with your name will not only amaze you, it will give you access to quick response should you need to take any action on what is being said about you or your company.

There are so many apps, so little time! My only issue with all these fab items is that you still have to click the back button to get out of these sections vs. a direct button back to Google. Happy Searching!
